LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL: Canton Majors Win, Troy Loses (2012-06-22)
CanTroSports The Canton Major All-Star baseball team picked up a 5-4 win over Towanda in their pool-play opener.
Clayton Tymeson picked up the win for Canton, allowing only three hits while striking out ten Towanda batters.
Brendon Landis led the Canton squad at the plate, collecting three singles, a run scored and a stolen base. Nick Schoonover added two hits and a run scored, and Tymeson chipped in with a single and two runs scored.
Taylor Acla, Daniel Colton and Dylan Wilcox each had singles, with Colton and Nate Deeghan scoring a run each.
Troy fell in the other Midwest Division game, losing to Southern Tioga, 4-3.
Troy returns to action today, travelling to take on Towanda. Canton will host Troy on Sunday for a 4pm game.
