LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL: CANTON MINORS WIN OPENER (2012-06-23) CanTroSports
The Canton Minor All-Star team opened pool play Saturday, picking up a 20-7 win over the team from Northern Tier.
Aaron Sparling led the Canton offense with three singles and three runs scored. Timmy Ward collected a double, a single and scored three runs, while Gavin Tymeson had two singles and scored four runs.
Joel Schoonover added a triple, a single and two runs scored, and Cameron Bellows had two singles and a run scored.
Tyler Williams had a double and scored twice, and Carter Route added a single and a run. Brendan Matthews and Reese Allen each scored a run, and Garrett Storch scored twice.
Four Canton pitchers saw action on the mound, as Tymeson, Schoonover, Matthews and Ward combined for eleven strikeouts.
The Minor squad will return to action Monday for a 6pm game at Troy.
